The sixth and final transnational meeting of the GreenMove consortium took place in Valongo, Portugal, under the theme “Empowering Women in Mountainous Regions through Mobility and Gender Equality.” Over four days, 17 partners from 16 countries engaged in workshops, roundtable discussions, and cultural visits to address the unique mobility barriers faced by women, the elderly, persons with disabilities, and low income residents in mountainous and rural areas. The meeting celebrated Valongo’s social innovation programmes, including the intergenerational “YouTubeTrainers” initiative, and cemented the consortium’s legacy as a European movement for inclusive, citizen led climate democracy.

Cultural visits to a winery and a bakery museum, plus traditional dances by Valongo’s Senior Dance Academy, enriched the experience.
